On Thursday March 30th (Today!) Selena Gomez launched her new lip oils for her brand Rare Beauty. These lip oils come in 8 shades and will be retailing for $20. In an interview with Elle Magazine, Selena shares that these lip oils have been in the works for 2 years! She explains that the time was spent perfecting the formula and the shades, and that getting the shades right is super important to her and the brand. Made with jojoba and sunflower seeds, this new lip oil is more like a lip jelly, and keeps the lips super hydrated.
One thing I wanted to discuss was the pricing of these lip oils. We are in a time where everything is insanely priced. A Dior lip oil (I expect this to be the biggest competitor) retail for $40. $40 for a product that runs out so quickly is a bit crazy and I think that Dior should be taking lessons from Selena. $20 for the same size product is a way better deal and one that fans are loving.
Being an active Rare Beauty wearer, I am super excited to hopefully get my hands on one of the shades. Because Rare Beauty is super popular and Selena's recent surge of popularity, I expect these to be fully sold out!
